SAINT ALPHONSUS REGIONAL
Medical
Center (SARMC) is the only hospital in
Idaho to receive the
HealthGrades
2012
Women’s Health Excellence Award.
• The award places SARMC in the top
5 percent in the nation, one of 175 out
of 4,783 acute-care hospitals nationwide.
• Women’s Health Excellence Award recipi-
ents had, on average, women’s mortality
rates that were 42 percent lower and com-
plication rates that were 14 percent lower.
• The study evaluated 16 women’s medi-
cine, cardiovascular, and bone and joint
health treatments and procedures over
the years 2008, 2009 and 2010 using
data from the federal Medicare program.
SARMC was also ranked as the No. 1
hospital in the Treasure Valley by
U.S.News
& World Report
in its Best Hospitals
report—for the second year in a row. This
report included analysis of 12 hospitals in
the Treasure Valley.
In addition to our No. 1 hospital rank-
ing, SARMC received high-performance
marks in eight specialties: cancer; ear, nose
and throat; gynecology; nephrology; neu-
rology and neurosurgery; orthopaedics;
pulmonology; and urology.
