ON AUG. 8, Saint Alphonsus – Nampa will open a newCancer Care Center for Canyon County and surrounding areas. The Cancer Care Center is committed to enhancing the quality of life for patients and families. The diagnosis of cancer can have a profound effect on patients, shaking physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual foundations. Mindful of this real-ity, the new Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center – Nampa—in conjunction with the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Centers in Caldwell and Boise—includes three physi-cian clinic rooms, infusion therapy rooms with a healing environment and services to support our oncology patients. These services include nutrition, exercise and other therapies proven to meet a patient’s physical, mental and spiritual needs.

Saint Alphonsus – Nampa is committed to keeping care close to home by developing a complete continuum-of-care model for Canyon County patients. In April, Saint Alphonsus – Nampa opened its Compre-hensive Breast Care Center at the Nampa Health Plaza. Patients can now receive a dig-ital mammogram and, if needed, follow-up diagnostics in one Center. If breast cancer is detected, a patient can then receive sur-gery services and treatment close to home at Saint Alphonsus – Nampa without having to travel outside of the community. Karl Keeler, CEO of Saint Alphonsus – Nampa, states, “We are excited to provide additional cancer care services to Canyon County that complement the Saint Alphonsus Cancer Care Center in Caldwell and Boise and support our patients at every level of the care spectrum.”

The new Saint Alphonsus – Nampa Cancer Care Center is located in the former Cameo Suite at the Main Campus (1512 12th Ave. Road) and is open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. To make an appointment or request a tour of the new facility, call 288-4679 .

Along with a new Cancer Care Center comes a new member to the team! Saint Alphonsus Medical Group and the Cancer Care Center in Nampa are pleased to welcome A. Scott Pierson, MD. Dr. Pierson is a board-certiﬁed medical oncologist and hematologist with particular interests in the treatment of breast, lung and gastrointestinal cancers. He is originally from the East Coast, where he attended Jefferson Medical College in Philadelphia and graduated magna cum laude before moving on to complete his internal medicine residency and fellowships at the University of Colorado.
