IN JULY,
more than 100 community
leaders celebrated the double grand
opening of the Saint Alphonsus Wound
Healing Hyperbaric Medicine Clinic and
the new Treasure Valley Surgery Center at
the Nampa Health Plaza (located at the
Garrity/I-84 interchange).
Hyperbaric medicine
Saint Alphonsus is proud to be the first
to offer hyperbaric medicine for Canyon
County. Breathing 100 percent oxygen
increases oxygen-dissolved blood plasma,
which is then delivered to those areas that
are having trouble healing. This treatment
can promote the growth of new blood ves-
sels, resuscitate damaged or diseased tissue,
accelerate wound healing, and reduce
swelling and inflammation. Increased oxy-
genation of tissue also enhances the ability
to fight infection.
